Cover Love (27)

Rabid Reads - Cover Love

This feature is hosted by Carmel @ Rabid Reads. The rules are very simple. Choose a cover (or two, or three), preferably new-ish, and share what you like about it. Grab the graphic or don't just so long as you link back.

My pick this week:

You know, I could just stare at this cover for hours and hours and not get bored. There's just something...calming and comforting about it. Maybe the open jar, maybe the blurry women or maybe it's the fireflies. I don't know. I just love it.

Firefly Lane - Kristin Hannah

My pick this week:

I love how her face and shoulder disintegrate into puzzle pieces and then into dust. Sort of like she's loosing her identity. It's also a tad creepy, how her eye is still intact, but half her face isn't.

Mila 2.0 - Debra Driza

My picks this week:

As with the first cover in this series, I love the frosty loon of it. And there's this air of mystery that the colors have, one that I love. I also love the way her hair is lifted up by the wind.

A Feast of Souls by Hailey Edwards

Photobucket Not as pretty as the first cover in the series, but it's still cool :D I'm also waiting to see how the story progresses.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

My pick this week:

This is a pretty cover, isn't it? I'm just wondering if that burst of light in the corner of the jar means the butterfly will escape his prison or not. Like a crack in the wall, you know? Or at least that's how I see it. Anyway, it also looks a little creepy :P

My picks this week:

I didn't have time to read Infamous unfortunately, but I know for sure I'll like it. Also, the blurb for Inferno sounds great. So I can't wait to read this one. OH, why I liked it? The firey background. Though fire scares me, I love the way it looks from faaar, faaaaar away. So it's safe to ogle at the flames in a picture :D

Inferno - Sherrilen Kenyon

Do I have to say why I love this cover? Well, first of all, the background ('cause that's the first thing I noticed, not the hot, almost naked guy *giggles*) makes me feel a little chilly. And given the hot weather in my neck of the woods, I need some cool air. (really, it's like living in a very hot oven. It's not fun!). Then there's the hot, almost naked guy :P Which I'm convinced is Paul Marron. And nothing you say can convince me he's not. :D

Thrown by a Curve - Jaci Burton

I haven't read any of the books in this series, but I do admire their covers. I think this is the prettiest one, actually. I like the light coming out of the book, like a secret passageway has been opened. And her dress is pretty too.

Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare

My picks this week:

I like the background colors a lot! Also, she has sparkles in her hair! That's cool. Oh, and the font used for the title is so pretty! I wonder if the heroine is anything like the girl in the picture though...

Innocent Darkness - Suzanne Lazear

This is such a simple cover. Maybe that's why I like it. Although I'm not particularly fond of the pinkish-violet glasses, I love the angel-devil sides on the lenses. Though I'm not exactly sure about the mustache. But I do like the cover :D

Hollywierd - Terri Clark

My picks this week:

From Notting Hill with Love... ActuallyCartoonish cover *sigh* I love those.

Kill Me Softly

This is a creepy cover. The bloodied rose gives me goose bumps. I wonder who gave it to whom and why. I do want to read this book. :D

My pick this week:

Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly #1)

I looooove that dress! It's amazing. And the fact that she keeps her hands hidden behind it makes me think she's planning something. Also, the tree branches are creepy.

My pick this week:

The Accidental Genie (Accidental Friends, #7)

While I can't exactly say I care much for the pinkish color, I love the whole genie-in-a-bottle theme. And the smoke around her is so cool. Also, her costume is sooo cool! I have to say though, the entire series has awesome covers!

My picks this week:

Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1)
Starcrossed - Josephine Angelini

The first thing I see when I look at this cover is the sea. I love the sea. I actually want to be a mermaid when I grow up, but that's a different story. Sea breeze, sea, storm clouds and a pretty dress. What more can I wish for?

Angel Arias (Night Creatures, #2)
Angel Arias - Marianne de Pierres

There's something incredibly creepy about this cover. Also, for some reason, she reminds me of the Evil Queen from Snow White. I have no idea why, but that's what I think of when I see this cover.

The Space Between
The Space Between - Brenna Yovanoff

I remember I saw this cover sometimes last year. I loved it then and I love it now. I like how she is lying on a bench and behind her is Hell. Or that's how I see it. And the bench is, in my eyes, some sort of door. And, also, the swirls around the bench make me want to get creative and make some sort of jewelry resembling that. ( I recently discovered wire jewelry *smile*)

My picks this week:

Spell Bound (Hex Hall, #3)

*sigh* Now that I've read the book, I love the cover even more. Or maybe I should say Kaidan, but *shhh* Don't tell!

Seriously though, the book is amazing and it has a great cover too. Just look at that dress! It's a creepy-sexy cover if you ask me ;)

Aw, how can I not like this cover? I saw that all books in the Hex Hall series are like this. Half-student, half-something else. I like that. Sort of like "look beyond the surface and you'll be surprised of what you find". I also like the fact that the title and author's name are reflected in the purple-ish lake.

Also, LOVE the black cat!!

My pick this week:

Princess of the Silver Woods (Princess, #3)

I'm sorry I'm late. My brain is weird this week. But anyway...

This cover is so beautiful. And if you watch the Once Upon A Time TV show, you probably know the very cool twist they put to Little Red Riding Hood's tale. So I'm really, really imagining this cover to be perfect for that type of view of the classic story. I don't know for some reason, the girl on the cover manages to look cute and scary at the same time. I for one plan on reading this book :D

My pick this week:

Werewolf in Seattle by Vicki Lewis Thompson

There's just something about a cartoonish cover. I know, I know,  I've said it too many times, but I can't stop myself. This is really a cover that catches my eye.

So, what cover caught your attention this week?

My pick this week:

The Immortal Rules

I've heard so, so much about the Iron Fey series, I feel like I HAVE to read that series. But back to the cover of The Immortal Rules. I love her blood-red eye and her blood tear. If that's not enough, I love the font of Blood Of Eden. And the air of complete creepiness that this cover has. Or that's how I feel. Or maybe I'm biased because I'm hoping the world would stop moving and the clock would stop ticking long enough for me to finish this book. Oh, and wake up tomorrow and have the second book out already. I don't think I can wait an entire year for the second book *sniffle*

My picks this week:

Bitterblue (The Seven Kingdoms, #3)

This cover reminded me of Harry Potter and the winged keys from Sorcerer's Stone for some reason. I also love the blue-violet gradient and how you can see her eye through the key chain. Makes her look like she (or is it a he?) is spying on someone :P

Innamorata di un angelo

I got this book about a month and a half ago. I was in a little bookshop in town and the cover drew my eye and it was like it was whispering "Buy me! Buy me!!". So I did. I think it would also be my first book with an angel as a hero. In love with an angel (loosely translated) sound actually good. I hope I'll manage to read it and tell you what it's all about :D

My pick this week:

Thirteen (Women of the Otherworld, #13)
I know this isn't the type of cover I've shown you in the past, but there's a reason this cover caught my eye. The moment I saw it I thought "Jewelry!". I love unique shaped silver jewelry (I'm ok with gold too, but I think those are for very special occasions, so I don't use them that often). This would make such an amazing pendant. Of course, the stone would be amethyst, 'cause I love those too. So there, I said it. I'm a girly girl after all...

Then again, those woods and the barely-there human silhouettes are cool too!

Entangled (Spellbound, #1)

I love love love this cover. I wonder what the book's about. And I'm actually tempted to read the book, just to see if there's any ice or snow in it. Reminds me a little of the Snow Queen. Yep, might have to read this one :D

My pick this week:

The Forever Girl: Sophia's Journey (Forever Girl, #1)

I love the eye-shadow. That's actually the first thing I noticed, to be honest. And the collar. And then there's the parasol. Plus, the girl reminds me of Taylor Swift for some reason. Anyway, I do love this cover.

Sophia Parsons’ family has skeletons, but they aren’t in their graves...

Solving the mystery of an ancestor’s hanging might silence the clashing whispers in Sophia's mind, but the cult in her town and the supernaturals who secretly reside there are determined to silence her first.

As Sophia unknowingly crosses the line into an elemental world full of vampire-like creatures, shapeshifters, and supernatural grim reapers, she meets Charles, a man who becomes both lover and ally.

But can she trust him?

It’s not until someone nearly kills Sophia that she realizes the only way to unveil the source of her family's curse: abandon her faith or abandon her humanity. If she wants to survive, she must accept who she is, perform dark magic, and fight to the death for her freedom.

My pick this week:

All's Fair in Vanity's War (The Seer's Seven Deadly Fairy Tales)

There's something incredibly creepy about this cover. For some reason, when I first saw it, I thought of Great Expectations set in modern times. I also love the broken mirror and the crows and the spider. I'm also wondering if she actually has that look on her face or if her reflection is sort of "watching" her and is coming alive. I know it sounds weird, but anyway...
